Volunteering

Our volunteers are the key to Project Transitions. If you are considering volunteering, there is a wide range of opportunities available: at Top Drawer, our thrift store; at Doug's House, our hospice; at the administrative office; and at our fundraising events.

How can I request more information?

Contact Sarah Shaw, Volunteer Coordinator, by calling (512) 454-8646 or emailing sshaw@projecttransitions.org.

Is there a Volunteer Orientation?

Maybe...

Administrative and Event volunteers are encouraged to attend one of our orientations to learn more about our agency and its programs. However, it is not required in order to volunteer in these two areas.

Thrift Store volunteers are required to attend a 1 1/2 hr orientation held on either a Tuesday or Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:00pm at the store. Click here for our current Volunteer Orientation Schedule.

Hospice volunteers are required to attend an extensive 3 part Orientation Series held monthly. Click here for our current Orientation Series Schedule.

Do I need to register for an Orientation?

Although we prefer that you register for orientation, it is not required. Please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Shaw, sshaw@projecttransitions.org, or call her at 454-8646, before the orientation so that we may know how many to expect.

Do you accept Community Service Restitution (CSR) hours?

Yes. We have opportunities for CSR volunteers in the administrative office, at our events and in our thrift store. Please speak to Sarah about details.

I'd like to donate an item from your Wish List. Where should I bring it?

If you have an item to donate that appears on our wish list, please bring it to our Administrative Office at 7101-B Woodrow. Our office is open from Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, and it is a good idea to call ahead at 454-8646 so that we know to expect you.

If you have any additional questions about volunteering, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Shaw at sshaw@projecttransitions.org, or call her at 454-8646.
